Mary Brennan Coursey and Chuck Coursey are the principals of Coursey & Company, one of Connecticut’s premier public affairs communications firm founded in 1991.

Together, they have specialized in developing winning communications strategies, grassroots campaigns and effective media outreach strategies to reach and move elected officials, policy makers, stakeholders and the public. 


Mary Brennan Coursey

Mary is member of the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Hartford, a past Co-Chair of the Komen Connecticut Race for the Cure and past Co-Chair of Riverfront Recapture’s annual fundraising gala, “THE BIG MO.”

She is the Founding Board Chair of The Connecticut Family Theater, a past Board Member of the Hartford Business Improvement District and past Corporator for the Hartford Public Library and Hartford Hospital.

Chuck Coursey

Chuck served three terms on the West Hartford Town Council and served as the town’s Deputy Mayor. During his tenure, he was a key advocate for the development of Blue Back Square and chaired the Town Council’s construction oversight committee for the project.

Chuck currently serves as Vice Chair of the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, Chair of the West Hartford Commission on the Arts and Trustee of the Connecticut Museum of Culture and History.

Chuck co-chairs West Hartford’s America 250 Planning Committee and its Revolutionary War Campsite Preservation Subcommittee. He also hosts Trout Brook Tales, a podcast that highlights the people, places, and events that have shaped West Hartford's unique history.

He is an Emeritus Board Member of West Hartford’s Playhouse on Park and previously served on the boards of the West Hartford Public Library Foundation, the Noah Webster House & West Hartford Historical Society and Hartford Interval House.
